Seafood Expo Asia 2025, the 13th exhibition and the fourth consecutive year the event has been held in Singapore, took place from 10 to 12 September at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
The event was produced by Diversified (Diversified Communications). The exhibition brought together companies from 42 countries in 28 pavilions, bringing together more than 4,190 industry professionals.
Latvia was represented by Kaigo.lv, which carried out an assessment of the market suitability of Alaskan wild salmon products for the Asian region, particularly in the HoReCa, importer and retail segments.
During the exhibition, our representatives presented a range of Alaskan wild salmon products for professional kitchens and trade, highlighting their quality, origin, traceability and supply chain organisation.
"Our task was to make sure that the company's product offer meets the requirements of buyers in the Asian market," says Igor Sugako, founder of Kaigo.lv.
One of the most important elements of the exhibition was the face-to-face meetings with potential buyers and importers, which allowed a structured comparison of product specification requirements (volume, packaging, certification, delivery schedules) and the identification of the most promising positions for the Asian market.
The exhibition programme and activities included:
- product demonstrations and tastings, as well as a "New Product Showcase";
- Seafood Excellence Asia Awards – a competition for new seafood solutions (taste experience, packaging, market potential, originality and ease of use);
- Oyster Challenge – oyster opening and cooking competition;
- a conference programme on market trends, technology, aquaculture innovation, sustainability and supply chain transparency.
Kaigo.lv products are developed using raw Alaskan wild salmon harvested in a highly regulated fishing environment. The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) provides international representation for the industry and coordinates information on the origin and quality requirements of Alaska seafood.
Kaigo.lv's participation in Seafood Expo Asia 2025 demonstrates the company's market research-based approach, laying the foundation for long-term cooperation and product customisation to meet the needs of buyers in the Asian region.
